about

Steven Howard, Asheville FM: "This one dropped my jaw at the show. It's a story of child abduction and Stockholm Syndrome. You have to hear this. Riley leads the band, cues the refrain in each verse. It's messed up, and it's why I love rock music and the unabashed ability to put yourself out there as performers. Chutzpah."

lyrics

It was a hot summer day as i stepped out of the van, my mother my father and my sister all holding hands. I had reese's pieces on my mind, but much to my dismay there were no reeses pieces to find. That's when I saw a man standing by the van motioning for me to come over then he took my by the hand and led me around back and told me "I've got reese's pieces by the stack." I asked him "where?" and he said "in there" and pointed to his truck. I climbed in and I heard the door shut and my heart skipped a beat as the engine started. Then we were driving and I asked "where are we going" and he said, he said

"WE'RE GOING BACK TO IOWA" (back to fucking Iowa)

We rode for 6 hours then we got to his house then he sat me down on his couch and he sat next to me and he turned on the tv and I felt safe. For the next 8 years we slowly fell in love because he was amazing. Sometimes I think back to that day when he took my life away, what did he say? I'll tell you, he said
"WE'RE GOING BACK TO IOWA"

Then one day as I sat at his house I heard a sound, it was so frightening. Then I looked out the window and saw red and blue lights flashing in my eyes, as bright as lightning. Then they busted down the door and they took my man away, where they have him I cannot say, but they took me back too, back to my family, back where I fucking hate it. Sometimes I'll get real sad and I'll see my dad and he'll say "whats wrong" and i'll get out my guitar and i'll sing him this song and i'll say

"I WANNA GO BACK TO IOWA"
