A fine example of the Uncle Kurtis knack for songwriting, Riley wrote the lyrics and shared them with the band soon before they headed to the studio. At the very end of studio day one of two, the idea was tossed out: "Maybe we do Marietta as a reggae song?" With studio time winding down on day two, a strong reggae base line erupted. The rest is history.
